The longtime member of the decade’s most successful British girl band, and her mother, a social worker, talk about their relationship

Heidi: For as long as I can remember it’s always just been me, my mum, my sister, Hayley, and my nan, Vera. We’re all really, really close. We did everything together when I was growing up, which I loved. We’d go to my nan’s every night for our tea, or she’d come to ours. We saw all the family every day. I miss that so much now.
My earliest musical memory is singing at the Neptune Theatre, aged three. It was Christmas and it was the first time I’d worn a tutu. (More...)
